20,000 Chlamy Library Mutants Available!

Dear Colleagues,

Thank you for your support of the Chlamy Mutant Library project!

We are pleased to announce that many more mutants are now available at the Chlamydomonas Resource Center. There are now over 20,000 mutants total, covering 10,301 genes (58% of the genome)!

Strains can be searched and ordered through this website:

https://www.chlamylibrary.org/

A manuscript describing the pilot collection is here:

http://www.plantcell.org/content/early/2016/01/13/tpc.15.00465.abstract

Most of the mutants available are from a second generation library, not described in this manuscript, but for practical purposes the manuscript should serve as a good guide. We are working to make tens of thousands of additional strains available in the coming months, so please stay tuned.

Please beware that only ~75% of the insertions are correctly mapped, so they must be verified by PCR!!! Please see the FAQ on the website and direct questions to Matt Laudon, chlamy@umn.edu.

Please forward this email broadly to your colleagues, even those not currently using Chlamy. We hope that this resource will help advance many fields.

Best wishes,
