From George B. Witman, UMass Chan Medical School, Worcester, MA, September 2025
Background: CC-4768 (lf4-9 mt+)
Origin: Made by TIM-tagging LF5 with sfGFP tag right in front of the stop codon in CC-4768.
Culture maintenance: Can be maintained on Tris-acetate-phosphate (Gorman and Levine, 1965) agar plates or slants, or grown in liquid modified Medium I (Sager and Granick, 1953; Witman, 1986).
Comment: In this strain, the endogenous LF5 gene is tagged with sfGFP at the C-terminus right in front of the stop codon. Cells have a long-flagella phenotype due to the lf4-9 allele.
