CC-2255 dum1 (cob1 deletion) mt-

$30.00

From Rene Matagne, University of Liege, May 1988

Phenotype: dies in the dark

This is a terminal deletion mutation in mitochondrial DNA that eliminates the cob (cytochrome b) gene. It is an obligate photoautotroph, i.e. cannot grow on acetate medium in the dark. DNA analysis shows both monomer and dimer forms of the genome, and a heterogeneous size distribution.

CC-2654 is a subclone of this strain.
