Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Wang Lab at Northeastern University

JOB SUMMARY

The Wang Lab at Northeastern University (Boston) seeks to advance our understanding of chloroplast function using the model unicellular microalga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. The successful candidate will focus on the regulatory mechanism of photosynthesis by characterizing the novel protein interactors identified in our comprehensive chloroplast protein-protein interactions network (Wang et al., Cell 2023; Wang et al., in preparation for submission).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal postdoc candidate must have a Ph.D. in plant science, molecular biology, or biochemistry and be able to undertake substantially full-time research. The candidate will be highly motivated, have a strong academic record and research experience in characterizing protein functions in plants or microalgae, and have fluent verbal and written English language skills. One or more of the following is a plus: experience with photosynthesis, Chlamydomonas reinhardtii or other microalgae, and confocal microscopy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

1) Perform research.

2) Prepare and write research papers, grant proposals, presentations, etc.

3) Train and supervise graduate students and undergraduate students.

4) Laboratory management.
