Phenotype: deficient in osmoregulation
The osm12 mutant was obtained in 1995 in the laboratory of Greg Pazour, by insertional mutagenesis of a nit1-305 strain originally derived from CC-2453, using a NIT1-containing plasmid pGP505. This strain was obtained by backcrossing the original mutant four times to nit1-305 strain CC-2453. This strain should be maintained on TAP medium supplemented with 0.06M sucrose or lactose.
