From Mautusi Mitra, University of West Georgia, March 2022

Background: 4A+
Origin: random insertional mutagenesis using the linearized pBC1 plasmid which contains the AphVIII gene that confers resistance against paromomycin; pBC1 plasmid was obtained from Dr. Kris Niyogi (UC Berkeley); strain is paromomycin resistant; for details please see published research article
Culture maintenance: strain can be maintained under dim light (15-25 µmole m-2s-1); can be maintained on TAP or on TAP + Paromomycin plates containing 10 – 15 µg of Paromomycin/mL of TAP medium.
Comment: progressively photo-bleaches with increase in light intensity; see published article for more detail.
