Originally described in Huang et al., 1979. However, the original pf23-1 strain has the additional twi1-2 mutation due to the transposon insertion. In this pf23-1 (5-4) strain, the twi1-2 mutation has been removed. See Yamamoto et al., 2020. This is a dynein preassembly-deficient mutant.
