From Rene Matagne, University of Liege, June 1984
Phenotype: requires arginine
The arg7-4 mutation was induced by Loppes using ethyl methanesulfonate.
This is a stable, clean arg7 allele, probably a deletion since it fails to complement with either arg7-13 or the cluster comprising arg7-2, arg7-3, arg7-7 and arg7-12. It does supposedly complement with arg7-8 (aka arg2). We don’t know whether it can be transformed with the ARG7 plasmid.
