Phenotype: impaired motility
The oda7 mutation was UV-induced by Kamiya in the 137c background. The mutant lacks outer dynein arms. It swims, but more slowly than wild type, and lacks the backward swimming response to stimulation with intense light. Freshour et al. showed that the ODA7 protein interacts with both outer row and I1 inner row dyneins.
