VFL1-2-R2 is a rescued strain with wild-type motility obtained by cotransformation of vfl1-2, arg7 with pARG7.8 and an epitope-tagged construct of the VFL1 gene, pW6-10.0-3HA. The VFL1 gene product can be detected with antibodies against the HA epitope tag, as described by Silflow et al. 2001.
