Strain SP0106 C5 (pf14::pHYDA2-PF14 mt+) was generated by cotransformation of strain CC-1032 (pf14 mt+) with pSI103 and pHYDA2-PF14. This strain contains three copies of the pHYDA2-PF14 plasmid construct. It is not motile in aerobic conditions. Expression of the HYDA1, HYDA2, and HYDG genes is upregulated. Transcript levels for PF14 are upregulated, but apparently the protein is not expressed at levels high enough to result in motility.
