From Robert Togasaki, Indiana University, March 1980
Phenotype: requires acetate
F54 is a nuclear mutation that affects translation of the chloroplast atpA mRNA and produces a deficiency in both cyclic and noncyclic photophosphorylation. It was obtained by Bennoun and Levine after mutagenesis with methyl methanesulfonate.
