International Conference on Microbial Photosynthesis

The International Conference on Microbial Photosynthesis, taking place in beautiful Vancouver from August 9-12, 2018.

It should be particularly interesting for Chlamydomonas researchers studying  any aspect of photosynthesis or related processes, as well as researchers working on other eukaryotic algal groups such as diatoms. Check out our website at http://isprvancouver.com

This conference is sponsored by the ISPR (International Society for Photosynthesis Research) as one of the “interim meetings” between International Photosynthesis Congresses. Topics will include mechanisms and regulation of fundamental processes (e.g. light harvesting, photosynthetic electron transport, carbon fixation), ecology and ecophysiology of phototrophic organism in marine and extreme environments, evolution of photosynthetic mechanisms and (endo)symbiotic relationships, synthetic and systems biology of phototrophs applied to biofuel production, as well as discoveries of new organisms and processes. It will include both eukaryotic and prokaryotic micro-organisms. A list of Keynote and Plenary speakers can be seen below.

This conference will follow immediately after the ISPP (International Symposium on Phototrophic Prokaryotes), allowing attendees of that conference to stay for a few more days to discuss photosynthetic processes in their favorite organisms with those who work on microbial eukaryotic phototrophs. We expect this unique combination to drive some very interesting discussions!
And the week before, there is the PSA/ISOP conference July 29-Aug. 2 ( http://psa-isop2018.botany.ubc.ca/)
Vancouver is the place to be this summer!

Important Dates:
Early-Bird Registration Deadline: April 30, 2018
Oral Presentation Abstract Deadline: April 30, 2018
Poster Abstract Deadline: May 30, 2018

We welcome all scientists working in the field to submit an abstract for either an oral or poster presentation. While each session is expected to have a Chair and Invited Speaker (see list below), the remainder of the speakers will be selected from the submitted abstracts.

We especially invite postdocs and graduate students to submit an abstract and consider giving a talk. On the abstract submission page, please indicate if you would like to be considered for a travel award. (There is a checkbox for this.)

The registration system  is available at  http://isprvancouver.com/registration/
