Postdoctoral position in Vinyard Lab at LSU

A postdoctoral research position is available for studying molecular mechanisms in photosynthesis in the laboratory of David Vinyard at Louisiana State University. Current areas of research emphasis include protein-protein interactions in photosynthetic reaction centers and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) characterization of bioinorganic systems.

Duties:

90% Conduct rigorous research toward understanding molecular mechanisms in photosynthesis using a wide variety of biochemical and biophysical techniques.

10% Mentor both graduate and undergraduate students.

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in Biochemistry or related field; ABD candidates will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in one or more of the following areas: molecular biology in cyanobacteria or green algae, protein expression and purification, EPR spectroscopy.

An offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check. Application review will begin immediately and continue until candidate is selected.
