CC-1952 C. reinhardtii mt- [S-1 C-5]

$30.00

From P.A. Lefebvre, University of Minnesota, March 1986

S1 C5 and S1 D2 (CC-2290) are very similar wild Chlamy isolates from the same soil sample, collected in Minnesota. They have extensive sequence polymorphisms with the lab strain of C. reinhardtii, but are fully interfertile with it. Crosses between the lab strain and these isolates have been used as the foundation of the molecular map of the genome. A cDNA library has been prepared from CC-2290, and additional genomic sequencing is being done. This strain can grow on nitrate.
